I was born and raised in the UK & went to Secondary School in Harare, Zimbabwe. During my time in Zimbabwe, I witnessed the economic turmoil the country went through as well as the income disparity which existed among various segments of society. At the same time I became more interested in Islam after spending time with some of the local people of knowledge and thus opted to travel abroad to learn more about my religion and to learn about what it has to offer as an alternative and solution to the current economic challenges facing us today.
I am a passionate student and have benefited from prominent Shariah Scholars and Islamic Economists, academically as well as practically. I have nearly a decade of international experience working in Shariah departments (review, advisory, audit & training) of reputable Islamic institutions in KL, London, Abu Dhabi, Dubai & Riyadh.
I completed a Bachelors degree (Honours) specialising in Islamic economics & finance (Best Student in Islamic Economics Award) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), a Bachelors degree (Honours) specialising in Shariah from Al-Madinah International University (Malaysia) and a Masters (CIFP) specialising in Islamic finance from INCEIF (Malaysia).
I have sought & continue to seek knowledge traditionally from various Students of Knowledge & Shariah Scholars.
